The Club Champion Marketing Team will be responsible for sending the California Resident the appropriate Verifiable Personal Information Request form to verify the identity of the California Resident. ABOUT CLUB CHAMPION UK

Club Champion UK, formerly Golf Principles, was initall founded by Jason MacNiven, whose career in club-fitting began when he started working for Callaway in 1996. He quickly amassed over 10,000 hours of experience fitting golfers of all levels – including Colin Montgomerie in his prime – across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. After a lengthy career at TaylorMade, and a spell as Director of Golf at Wentworth, MacNiven founded Golf Principles in 2008 in an effort to bring the best results to every golfer he fits by offering a broad assortment of heads, shafts, and grips from most leading manufacturers.

Club Champion UK’s main fitting facility is in Basingstoke; however, it has developed partnerships with several golf clubs, including Brokenhurst and South Essex, in order to reach customers in other areas of the country.

The umbrella brand of Club Champion is primarily located in the United States, with over 100 locations there and other international studios in Scotland, Australia, and Canada. Recognized as the globe's top fitter and builder of custom golf clubs, the brand is looking to expand in the UK in the near future.

MEET OUR UK TEAM

 

JASON MACNIVEN

Jason began his career as a golf professional at Guildford Golf Club, but quickly realized that golf equipment and fitting was his passion. He worked with Callaway for four years, helped create their current custom fitting center and performed over 10,000 hours of golf club fitting across Europe. He eventually moved over to TaylorMade, where he held titles such as the Head of Custom Clubs Production and Club Experiential Manager in the EMEA over the next seven years. He then took the Director of Golf role at The Wentworth Club.

In 2008, Jason was convinced that his real calling was performing premium club fitting and club building, and opened his own independent studio called Golf Principles in Basingstoke. The next 14 years would be spent working with thousands of golfers through a comprehensive process he developed while working with the best golf equipment manufacturers in the world. He’s worked with countless amateurs and many of the world’s best golf professionals from around the globe. He continues to expand his team, using the knowledge he has gained over the last 25 years to teach others to fit and build golf clubs the way he has proven to be the best. He is very driven to expand the footprint of premium, in-depth club fitting and building services across England and to make the process available to avid golfers everywhere.

Joe Hughes

Joe Hughes is a PGA Golf professional with more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry. Joe has a strong playing background, having played for the Stirling and British University Teams, and then professionally on the Scottish Tartan Tour. After his playing career, he embarked on a club fitting career with TaylorMade Golf. Joe was a master club fitting technician and the national Fitting Centre Manager before becoming Performance Lab and Fitting Centre Manager for TaylorMade’s facilities across Europe.

His desire to work with golfers and improve games continued into the premium club fitting space, where he worked for Modern Golf and True Spec Golf, fitting players in the Middle East, North America, Continental Europe, and the UK. He has worked with all levels of golfer, from the weekend warrior to elite amateur and European Tour players. Most recently, Joe was UK and Northern Europe Manager for a company that distributed the premium golf brand, Miura Golf.

He is incredibly excited to join Club Champion and open a center in his hometown of Glasgow. He knows how powerful being backed by state-of-the-art technology, an unlimited amount of club combinations, and custom building can be to avid golfers. He looks forward to bringing the Club Champion brand of club fitting services to the Scottish and broader UK markets.
